Reports are indicating that a U.S. led airstrike that occurred on Friday have left ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi critically injured.
A large group of ISIS leaders were gathering near Mosul when the airstrike connected in the region. A defense official, speaking under the condition of anonymity, described the military situation.
He was unable to confirm whether or not Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi was injured during the airstrikes. However, following the attack, the ISIS leaders rushed to a nearby hospital where they demanded blood donations over the loudspeakers.
“We cannot confirm if ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was among those present,” he said. “We have no further information to provide regarding these strikes.”
However, the Twitter handle for Iraqi News, @IraqiNews tweeted the following:

It is impossible to say whether or not he was hurt, due to the lack of solid information, but a large majority of the Middle East news outlets are publishing the story with the belief that he has been severely injured.
Opinion:
It’s never a good idea to wish death on someone, but I feel as if he may be a person that is worthy of such a wish. Still, his death wouldn’t spell the end of ISIS. If he does die, a new leader will rise to push the radical ideology forward. This is the nature of radical movements.
